Another party etiquette question

loved the recent article about party etiquette. Would like to hear some comments on this party dilemma: Guests that ask if they can bring their dog. I have also had 1 guest arrive with dog in hand, without even asking if the dog is welcome. Altho' I have a dog, I don't prefer other dogs in my home. In past experiences, I have also had dogs urinate & poop on my floors. I'm done with other dogs in my home. I don't think I'm being too fussy, but would like your thoughts on the subject before the holiday season. Thanks!

Its horribly inconsiderate to bring a dog to another persons home without permission. Its not being fussy as just one visit can cause damage or nuisance. My dear basenji is very quiet and clean but very badly behaved.

no, its not ok for an indoor party. for an outdoor party it would be different i think.

I would get a doggie sitter for your dog on party night also, that way the dogs all have to stay home!

When you make/send your invitations to people you know have a dog, politely mention you do not wish other dogs in your home. BTW, other dogs, urinate/defecate in your house to put their scent.

I wouldn’t want your dog to come to my party lol, you’d have to be family or a very dear friend. One of our friends dogs came to a party at a friends house a long time ago, the dog went upstairs and peed all over the coats being kept in a bedroom. When our family brings their dog it’s stressfull for me as my cat feels like he can’t come into the house (nothing happens he’s just terrified of the dog) and in winter when it’s maybe 5 or 10 below zero I start losing my mind. The dog is fine, just huge and you up fighting it off while eating, pushing it out of our tiny kitchen while it tries to swiffer the counters with it’s lips (it’s head is at counter height so all food on the counter is also at risk) and ducking every time it’s massive whip like tail threatens to to take your eyes put (frequently) and yanking your smashed up toes out from under it’s massive clawy paws. We have a very small house lol.
