I gummed up my oak cabinet drawer from cleaning it with the wrong cleaner. How can I get rid of the gummy parts of the finish and restore the finish?

I think it would be hard to match the finish if I were to sand it down. I would like to use something like Howard's restore a finish but I don't think that it will tackle the gummy feeling and look
