Length of pendants okay?

Our ceilings are 10ft high.

Our pendant chain (rod) length is 3.5ft. (RH Benson 13" diameter pendants)

The shade part of the pendant comes down 19" from the rod.

Will they be too high? I read that pendants should be 3ft above the island but I don't know if that means the chain or the bottom of the shade.

I'm confused :/

I've attached a photo of the look we are going for. I appreciate the help as always!

My pendants are 30" between the top of my island and the bottom of the lights but I couldn't go higher because of the soffit. I think 36" from top of island to bottom of lights would be just right and is what is recommended for the height of dining table to light fixture.

Looking at the description on the RH site, it looks like there will be a canopy and ring at the top that will add 4" to the length. (See picture. And the height listed on the site is 29"-65", which would be the 19" pendant plus a combination of the 6" and 12" rods, plus the 4" canopy.)

I think the height will be fine too. If you're concerned, you can do the balloon trick: hang balloons on strings at the height you are planning and see how it looks.
