yes

That is what I have and it is too dark need to lighten it up. was thinking a light brown color. or light blue but I have a medium blue in the next room so would be too much blue. there is some yellow in the rug too, just cant decide I think it is this rug throwing me off, not a big fan of it but just bought it because it was a good price

Very pale blue would be pretty with this rug. You can use a much lighter shade of the adjacent room's blue.

The thing with north facing rooms is that the light that comes in is rather cold and it can get very dull. Blue won't feel cosy. I'd rather have a warmer wall colour. You can have blue accents to continue the blue through from the adjoining room and pick up the blue in the rug. This Benjamin Moore colour is said to work well in a north facing room:

thanks I really like that color your right about it feeling cold, I was just afraid warm color would make the room feel dark but that color is cheerful. THANKS
