GMO's and GEO's

An article that appeared in the April, 2014 issue of Fine Gardening might help some understand the issue. Sandra Merril on the page 22article titled "When it comes to GMO's, language matters" does, in my estimation, really good in making the difference clear. We have allowed the perpetrators of Genetic Engineering to usurp the term and redefine its meaning, but Genetic Engineering is not "substantially" equivalent the same as Genetic Modification.

She ends the article with "While genetically engineered crops are a form of genetically modified organisms, it is important that we label them accurately, In this instance, language matters."
