Trying to match kitchen floors

Here is a picture of the kitchen in the home we are about to move into! I've always been a light-and-bright kitchen kind of girl and would like to redo it. I want to leave the floors and granite because they are beautiful and I feel bad demo-ing them but I REALLY want white backsplash and either white or gray cabinets. Do you think I could make it work?

The walls are also a sage green which I don't really like at all. If I'm able to get away with a white backsplash, I'm thinking a super light warm greige would look good on the walls (since the floors are dark and warm colored). thoughts?

I see no reason why this couldn't work. Just pick your paint colors by matching the tones in the current finishes. Should be great! You could also paint the island a different color, say white if the rest are gray, or stain it espresso. Many possibilities.

Anna Rae, What about white washing the cabinets with a white subway tile and take a look at Sherwin Williams "Sea Salt" SW6204. One of our favorite colors. Good luck!

If it were me, I would match the backsplashes with the counters, then paint the cabinets and walls in much lighter shades of white and/or grey. This will brighten up the kitchen way more than white backsplashes.

Those cabs painted out in white or gray would look SUPER HANDSOME! Very Transitional! You've seen photos posted above with these types of cabs painted out.

You will get a lovely definition between counters and floors with white/gray cabinets. Then you can plan back splash and wall colour accordingly. Painting out the cabinetry will change the way light reacts in the space. Wait to see the cabinetry before you decide on wall colour/backsplash. The light may turn out differently.

@RappArchitecture when you say match the counters, do you mean do a dark backsplash? like black?

@Cancork Floor Inc. Good suggestion! My tile guy said he wanted to get in and do the backsplash before we painted so that none of the pain gets chipped so I hadn't thought about doing the painting first.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a light-medium warm gray for cabinets? I've been searching for the perfect one. I'd like to keep it on the warmer side.
