Side splash - yes or no?

Would you add a side splash to the left side wall? (Not going to use a tiled one) but would use the marching crema marfil side splash.

Also, I need help on wall art. Should I look for one picture over the toilet or two stacked on top of each other? I was thinking a mahogany framed print(s) since the cabinet is mahogany to tie the nicely together.

On the opposite wall directly in front of the toilet, should I put more artwork there? I used to have a towel bar there but I don't want it there anymore as this bathroom won't be used for baths, showers etc

No to the side splash. As for art, it depends on how much you have in the rest of your home. If you are big on wall decor, then you can use more. I would consider doing something over the toilet that is more of a wall "sculpture" rather a framed piece since the mirror is right there. Then on the wall with the door, you could do three pieces of framed square art. Remember to keep the space between them small, and dont be afraid to hang the bottom one below the typical height.

I would think you'd want side splash for water protection. Our granite installer has installed side splashes on 2 similar installations in our home as a matter of course and I never considered not having it. The older counters we were replacing (one Formica and one cultured marble) both had side splashes also.

I should add that I will add a towel ring to the left wall.

Towel ring sounds good - we actually did 2, staggered, on a similar wall in our powder room. But if people are going to be dragging their wet hands over there to the towels, even more reason to protect with sidesplash.

Visually no side splash looks better IMO, but practically a side splash makes sense.
