We have an old electric coil GE profile with downdraft in the center of the cooktop, with a grill shape. It still works, but are thinking of replacing this with another GE profile with ceramic radiant elements and downdraft, vs putting in a different cooktop with a range hood. The main issue is that the old downdraft has a good fan that ducts to outside the house. With a range hood I'd have to cut a new duct and there's a cabinet over it. Any advice? I'd like the downdraft that pops up in the rear but doubt that will fit with the old system which sits in the cabinet below the cooktop. thanks
