pantone doesnt make this stuff up, they are looking at what is already in the pipeline for spring collections. in other words, mostly about fashion. in other words, its not about us.

when i was in macy's recently i saw a ton of these pinks and blues in handbags, already designed, manufactured, and delivered before the announcement.

Yes I realize they put a lot of work into selecting the color. Some colors we will resonate with and others we won't despite what's happening on the runway or Pantones research.

every year i buy a bottle of Essie nail polish in the new color for my daughter's and daughter in laws christmas stockings. gotta remember to do that next time i'm at cvs.

i read a few of the posts over on the story side, remarkable 1. how many people only recently got rid of the mauve and baby blue of the 80s 2. how many people think someone may come into their house at night and repaint everything the new color, against their will 3. how few people realize how much grey will be reviled in 20 years when they finally get rid of the grey rugs and drapes they bought this year.

I'm sure a talented decorator could find a way to use these colors. For me they belong only in a child's bedroom or playroom.

They both look quite bold for an entire room, but maybe okay for an accent wall
