Melinda of Slater Interiors was wonderful to work with. We interviewed several designers before meeting Melinda. She stood out amongst the others at our first meeting. She's extremely detail oriented, provided a clear schedule, status reports and demonstrated her relevant experience to ensure our bathroom remodel would be everything we wanted when it was done. We had a vision for what we wanted but there are hundreds of product options available! Hiring Slater Interiors was hands down the best decision we made in our remodel. Melinda listened to us, to understand our vision and how we use the space day-to-day. She presented us with combinations of materials and worked with us to mix and match them to align with what we liked. She helped us understand how the materials would work together to create a clean, warm space with hints of drama and a usable flow. She helped us understand the pros and cons of materials such as where marble could be used or should be avoided. She helped us consider how we would optimize the space for daily use including where rob hooks would be placed, how a shower bench would help us get ready, where a niece would help us keep things accessible, and where light switches should be placed. As we moved into the construction phase Melinda supported us in making critical detailed decisions, finding creative ways to work around building constraints, ensuring our vision was not compromised. Working with Slater Interiors was a smooth process, that provided us the confidence to make our bold transformation a reality. We absolutely love our bathroom! In the end, it’s everything we wanted.

Melinda designed our kitchen and two bathrooms and was a joy to work with. She listened to what we wanted and worked with the contractor to make sure everything would work. When I think back to the breadth of coverage Melinda provided, it's really astonishing. We hired Melinda to design a remodel of the 100+ year old home we recently moved into. The 8-month remodel encompassed the kitchen and dining room, master bathroom, and powder room. It was important to us to maintain the Craftsman style, but to also incorporate some modernization and pops of color and style. Melinda's expert advice in tile and surface selection, layout, texture, color, and all the finer details of implementation, fit and finish was absolutely what made it all come together. We appreciated her great listening skills, organization, creative problem solving, and just the ease of working with her across a broad variety of project needs. Melinda saved the day at my home and kept my wife and I sane. My wife and I were wrestling with color choices and room use ideas. We were polar opposite in our choices. We called Melinda and she bridged the gap. Granted she did it with logic and professionalism. My husband and I worked with Melinda on a fairly extensive remodel of our condo. Downsizing from a 2500 sq. ft house house to a 1000 sq. ft. condo was tricky. Melinda designed a living space for us that was beautiful, elegant and comfortable. She created great storage options for us with lovely built-ins. We are now living our dream and couldn't have accomplished this without her. We were so lucky to have found her through recommendations by our real estate agent.

Melinda worked a near miracle on my very vertical townhouse. Due to stacked rooms, each room is small and the living/kitchen were all one room with very little kitchen storage! Melinda's design ideas made the rooms feel distinct and somehow larger. I now have ample kitchen storage. In addition, she made it all match the already modern cabinets. What a genius for style! Before Melinda, I hated the space. Now it feels like a home that everyone claims is equivalent to something you'd see in the magazine Dwell!

We hired Melinda to help design our kitchen which we were renovating. Melinda was great, she was part of the whole process making suggestions and offering advice. She completely met my desires in selecting the floor tile, I had very specific wants and Melinda helped to get all of them satisfied. When selecting the backsplash, Melinda helped to prevent a big mistake. Both my counter top and floor were "busy" and she recommended a simpler tile. Originally I didn't like it but I'm glad I went with her advice. Melinda's biggest impact was helping us design a booth into our kitchen. It helped to maximize our space and is the focal point of the kitchen. I would recommend using Melinda for your project.
