Door knobs (hardware) finish?

We have brass hardware for the kitchen cabinets and a stainless steel sink, faucet and stainless LG appliances. We are going for the modern farmhouse look. What color finish should i go with for the door knobs throughout the house? There is one door to the laundry( see pic) off of the kitchen that is in plain sight of the brass hardware and stainless appliances. Should I be concerned to have another finish for hardware?

Hi Adam,

I would lean towards a brushed nickel or silver finish for hardware for doors however doorknobs are so versatile these days and the design would very much be dependent on what your chosen cabinet handles look like and other finishes...

I would do a black finish for all door hardware. Look at Emtek hardware.

I would suggest black for the interior door hardware. Many manufactures have that finish option but Emtek has a good selection for a standard hole bore - they also have a variety of back plates to add a extra bit of detailing ...

Modern farmhouse with crystal door knobs??? I would do satin nickel it is simple blends with most everything and I think brass would just not work and i can’t see black where it does not appear you have any black any where else

Brushed nickel will definitely pair well with what you have going on. I might bring home a sample of black, though! I would do a hard finish with no shine. It would add a bold farmhouse touch.

Be sure to take the samples home!

Well, nothing says farmhouse like a modern five-panel door! %^)

Don't get hung up on the labels -- modern, rustic overtones, a hint of industrial, with some glam. You can match the knobs here to your kitchen hardware and go with a different finish elsewhere, pick a finish that you like for everywhere, or even have different colored knobs on both sides of the same door! Just find something you like.
