ALL Laundry Detergent

last modified: 10 years ago

Awhile back Mich sent me a boatload of ALL pods...All pods with Stainlifters and All pods with Oxi Free and Clear...both of these have enzymes and both have a high concentration of Surfactants. Both work extremely well and the regular All with Stainlifter smell absolutly wonderful. I have been using these on colors and darks with great results even with heavy soil loads. I have at times added STPP to unusually dirty stinky loads and all I can say is...Move Over Tide there's a new detergent in Pinkys Queenie. No I'm not giving up my Tide with Bleach powder which I need to keep whites - white but these All Pods are really amazing.

Recently I bought the ALL Radiant liquid. ..its smells fantastic and works great just like Mich's Pods. I LOVE it. I am highly recommending these products for colors. Next time your in the store take the HUFF test...I am a powder girl but for several months I've been enjoying some liquids and now I'm here to CHALLANGE you to take the ALL Laundry Detergent Test...if you give it a fair trial and don't like its preformance or scent I will send you a Hershey Chocolate bar to ease your disappointment..LOL. so what do you say? You know I'm only going to strongly recommend a product that I really LIKE. Lol

Sounds like you have a winner(or two) with the pods and liquid.

I have shelves/cabinets for detergent storage but I also bought one of those carts with shelves that fit between/beside your machines a long time ago. I have it sitting next to the washer and the wall so all you see is what is on the top shelf of it. If I want anything on the bottom 2 shelves just roll it out and get it. I rolled it out the other day and couldn't believe it. I had a partial jug of All Liquid(the blue) under there that I bought way back. It had gotten a leak in the bottom and all of it had leaked out onto the shelf(glad it couldn't get on the floor). The bottle looked fine and where it was it was not bumped and it doesn't touch the washer or wall. I think over time the seam in the bottom of the jug leaked.

Just thought I would tell you this Pink cause you say you are saving detergent for the grandkids. I hope it is all powder cause now since seeing this I doubt the jugs will hold up for many years??

You are about to convince me to get some of the pods, Mama. How is the liquid Radiant at sudsing? I know water chemistry plays a role, but I'm hesitant to try it because I'm afraid it will be like Wisk he(safe for all machines).

I know you say your Q. rinses really good, I wish mine did. Maybe your spray rinse gets more suds out than mine. I believe yours sprays at an angle where mines sprays more straight down.

Your right Sparky I don't think the jugs will hold up. I keep checking my old jug of Wisk but so far its ok, I probably should transfer it to glass and save the empty jugs but than again I should probably just use it. Ya I'm just saving powders they are easier to store and if preserved properly will keep many years...I doubt liquid will.

I read some things Launderess said about powdered D/W detergents...that even though it may be dry and free flowing it loses its strength over time...wonder why it does but powder laundry detergent will be fine.

What a mess you must have had with that leaky jug of ALL...bet it smelled great lol

It was a mess, but SO glad it didn't get all in the floor. My hands smelled like that for quite a while...

I have all of the ALL pods and most liquids-and just bought the ALL Radiant today, so I am glad to read to great review. It should pair wonderfully with the Purex FS that I also bought today. So much for my vow of no detergents til 2016-that failed miserably-hee hee!

Jean...let us know what you think of the ALL Radiant. I know with a name like Radiant it makes me think of whites but there's no oxygen bleach in it..its relying on the concentrated Surfactants. What do you think of the scent? I also bought the Purex FS today..great minds think alike. I have my sheets washing now and will test the Purex on them, I'm taking a risk this late in the evening because if I don't like the scent I'm stuck with it till morning LOL.

Roc...I still haven't mailed a box I have for you...soon...please forgive this old lady her procrastanating..just reasons I'd rather not say in public...I'll email you tomorrow. But I a lso have Walmart Pearls in your box...I really can't find a difference in them and your Euro Perls...but you use Euro Perls often so you might notice something. Or it could be as I suspect water chem.

LaundryMitch also sent me a BIG container of these all stainlifter pods and MamaP is right...they are AMAZING!!! They clean as well as Tide, smell better and have yet to leave a stain. I am a total powder lover, but these pods are so great. I too cannot recommend them enough!!!

Are they just the blue stainlifter ones?

Do you find that the pods and powder suds about the same? Or does it seem that there is a lot less foaming with the pod?

pinky, I'm not tapping my foot. You're a sweetie for even getting the package together. I just got 4 together yesterday for things to go to DD2 and DB and it took me months! LOL

You get to it when you get to it. No worries.

Sparky, yes, ALL Stainlifters Mighty Pacs..Super Concentrated with In-Wash Pre-Treaters..they are blue but they don't list a scent name. I use two in my full fill and the water is slippery but suds are only few. However I don't think Larsi is having any suds issues in his Miele either.

Practigal, I have an older box of ALL Powder but don't use it since there's no enzymes in it and I'm saving it so can't comment on sudsing with it..I also have ALL Free and Clear Powder that I don't have a suds problem with. These ALL Pacs and the ALL Liquid Radiant both suds about the same, hardly no suds at all yet the water is slippery.

Sparky I should comment on the ALL Free and clear..the Powder you recommended I've had fine results with except I need to add Oxygen Bleach with it for whites which would be with any detergent that doesn't have oxygen bleach in the mix..than there's the ALL Free and Clear pods that are also good...than the ALL Free and Clear with Oxi Pacs that Mich sent which are excellent, they don't have oxi in them, instead they have a higher concentration of Surfactants and the enzymes. so if I used any of these on whites I'd add Sodium percarbonate and boost the water temp. But I prefer using the ALL on colors.

Roc could you put the pod in a small mesh garment bag like Larsi does? I suppose you could just cut a corner off and squeeze it into wherever you put liquid detergent. but I'd think it would be easier using the mesh bag and than no worries about any residue from liquids in your detergent dispenser.

If my load is large, I just place a pod at the very back of the drum and put the laundry on top of the load....and it almost never gets kicked up and stuck on the rubber boot!

If the load is small, and/or light....I pop a pod ;) in a mesh lingerie bag or bra bag, LOL, and the pod is perfect!!

Btw, no sudsing issues or rinsing issues. During the main wash portion, there are more suds than when using Classic Tide "he" or Miele powder...but all 3 rinses looks great!!

Right. Forgot about Larsi's mesh bag. I have a few of those so no problems.

Roc...I can just picture Larsi putting a little pod in one of those mesh bags...LOL

Larsi you must laugh everytime you do it Haha...just so cute-funny

Pink: Thanks for the info on the All pods. Have never tried the blue ones or the Oxi ones either. With the F&C powder I just add bleach(for whites) and it cleans fine. I don't mess with any Oxi powder anymore since it doesn't dissolve well and is like gravel in the water(but thats just me--dont want pump problems). I always use Cheer powder on colors--glad it has a nice smell and doesn't eat me alive. I saw a test of black fabric, washed I forget how many times, maybe 30 in All liquid and it looked awful. Had turned it into a dusty looking mess so I don't use it on my colors because of that.

With all this pod talk, I may be tempted enough to actually go and get some. I have never used laundry pods before so this would be my first time ;-)

Which ones would you recommend for a pod first timer? Just no Tide please, because I can't stand the scent of Tide detergents.

The ALL Stainlifters the blue ones...they are wonderful and the scent is great also.

Bea, my SQ does spray out towards the right, but I've read others have the spray straight down not even hitting the clothes, they must have fixed that before I bought mine.

The liquid ALL Radiant does not cause excessive suds for me..my water runs 0gr/gal to 1gr/gal depending on time of year, but even if I add STPP I don't have much suds with this.

Do you only use the Eco rinse on your machine or do you do a deep rinse?

If you try the ALL Stainlifter Pods you will need to use 2 in a full fill washer. Pods are not very cost effective for traditional top loaders, but IMO these ones are so worth it. I'm very glad Mich sent me these as I was looking for something for colors and jeans that worked well and smelled good..these fit the bill.

Pink: Does the pods smell like the "stainlifter All" liquid? I was in WM this afternoon and looked at those. No way to get a whiff of the pods, so I tried the liquid. I guess I have an odd sniffer but I don't like the smell at all for the Stainlifter All--reminds me of one they used to have called Fresh Rain or something about Rain. I smelled the Radiant liquid and it was better than the Stainlifter by a mile.

One thing about using unscented products, I think it turns you against most scented ones over time, although Cheer doesn't bother me. Tide pods in Botanical Rain are also very nice. Have you tried those?

Just an example of how everyone's sniffer is different. ..Sparky I hate the scent of every Tide Pod on the market, but I can't say for sure if Ive smelled the botanical rain. LOL.I don't remember the scent of the ALL Stainlifter liquid...IMO they smell like The ALL Radiant liquid.

That Radiant was just different--not bad at all. That Tide Pod says 4 in 1 with Febreze-- the botanical rain. It is just clean--the original powder would be better with that scent than what it is now.LOL

Sparky I'll check the Tide botanical rain scent out next time I see it and let you know what I think thanks.

The Tide 4 in 1 with Febreeze Botancial Rain is the best Tide pod I have smelled. I have not tried it, but it does smell clean and fresh!

@sparky823.. The All Pods are still scented like the Radiant. But the All Small & Mighty liquid is only produced in Fresh Rain though. It was very disappointing to me, too.

If you buy the All Pods, they have to be the ones without Oxi or anything else... just the regular Blue Tin/Bag that says "Stainlifters". :)

OK Thanks. I figured they would smell like the liquid and personally I can't stand that Rain scent. Tide pods flavored Botanical Rain smell great but the All FR is awful. The Radiant seemed more toned down. I will have to try those pods. Thanks Mitch.
