Good question. We were so excited about the siding, glazing, entry canopy, view to the stair and interiors we pressed ahead with our photography. While its disappointing that this occurred ahead of the landscape work, we are thrilled with the way this project looks.

will the ipe weather out like cedar does i.e. turn gray? what kind of maintenance is required with this type of siding?

The ipe will weather, depending on its exposure and orientation. It turns a rich warm grey. If you like the natural grey finish, its easy to let the siding weather naturally. If you prefer the rich deep color, then you will need to periodically oil the surface. The frequency will vary depending on climate, exposure, etc.
