Check with local codes. Most won't allow hanging light fixtures over bathtub. Electrocution hazards.

Thanks twisted minds didnt know about codes. May just center one in the bathroom.

Some codes (CA is one) allow a light fixture with an exposed bulb 8' above the water line to bottom of fixture. So with the tub full you cannot stand up and touch the actual fixture and still be in the water. Ergo a 10'+/- ceiling. Twisted is correct. They don't want you dead.

Twisted Mind and Ironwood - is it possible to have the light fixture above the bathtub (because it is there and you are renovating) but to swag the chandelier to the side on a looped cord?

Again, you need to check your local codes for the answer as they vary. A licensed electrician and proper permits pulled on the remodel will verify what can and can't be accomplished.
