I am more worried about you losing part to the light fixture, can that go higher?

Hi SS, Personally I think it could be bigger, but also love the picture - you can mount the picture (as is) on a much bigger frame - you can get cheapish plain ones from your craft supply store and paint the frame and mat (or multiple sized mats that add drama) in a dark charcoal/black that will expand the pictures and tie in with your door and chairs - this will make the overall picture bigger and achieve a focus point for the image - I've done it a long with small pieces that I loved but wanted to have more impact. hmmm, still no answer to the hanging light problem? I agree bigger is better, but the light will cut off more?

I like it - I would hang it a few inches higher so it doesn't look like it is sitting on the chairs and so no one shoves a chair into it.

I think the light won't interfere with the picture because the wall is so large.

Yes just resting on chairs so I could get an idea of how it looked on that wall.

you can also get very reasonable frames at charity thrifts, just remove the current whatever.

It needs to be higher, and although it's a nice picture, I wouldn't put it there. That kitchen is awfully somber, with the dark cabinets, black chairs, and grey walls. That spot needs some color. I wouldn't want to start my day in such a depressing space.

It is handsome, is it hanging too low? The center should be approximately 60-64" above finished floor. Perhaps a minimal frame in black would be nice.

The OP knows the picture is too low. I like it. It suits the room.

SS - I hear you - I've also put a picture on chairs and anything that will hold it so that I can stand back and see if I like it. The picture looks good in your space.

I like it too. A bowl of green apples on the table, all set.

lol - sorry - I did not realize it was actually resting on the chairs while you think about it - I thought the chairs were pulled up more and it was already hung:)

I think you need a picture with some colour.

I love the picture will look great...I actually love the all black and white continued throughout the room it really looks wonderful! I think your light over table needs to be lowered....it should be somewhere between 34"-36" from top of your table.

My light is 42" above table height.. Ceiling is 10ft in that space.. Will 6" make for a more comfortable look?

Yes any way to lower it will look much better...and it will cast more efficient light onto the table area.

I like the picture in that space though it does seem a little small. I agree with maybe framing it in a larger frame.

Yes framing it would be the perfect touch...if you live in an area with a Hobby Lobby it is your budget friendly way to frame large pictures...they do a great job. I use them all the time for my clients it fits into everyone's budget.

Pretty photo but if it were me, I'd place 3-4 smaller pictures.

i think you could add more interesting artifacts & make a grouping - perhaps floating shelves with unique art deco vases or platters in a pop of colour - turquoises or reds?

I love it. Great transition piece that ties the space together. I agree with the idea of a glass bowl with green apples in it as table centerpiece for a splash of color this space needs. I wouldn't do red. Red with black is very 20 years ago.

your right - maybe a black shelf of pure white? along side the picture
