Very nice! Do you switch out plants at your office? Did you ever put your ginormous Siam Silver in a pot?

akrrm the plants on my office window stay there pretty much full time. I do have some on the fringes of the window with less light that go home and outside over the summer. My 'Coppertone' is there now.....no place for it. It should get enough light to survive until spring when it can be put out again. That Siam Silver was too big and kind of ugly in that bucket. I took a few nice pups off it and potted them up and left the rest out.

They are beautiful. I like the Silver Frost. I'm wondering if the plant I bought as Silver Star is actually that. I really like the Jade Dwarf Marginata too.

Well, that was answered in another thread - not Silver Frost. I really like these hahniis - they look not so much like bird nests to me but baby bird beaks upturned to the mama bird for feeding - also remind me of my dog's ears (I have a hairless Xoloitcuintli so his ears are leathery, not quite as pointy LOL).

Beautiful, but I have a question. Were they always so crowded, or did they really reproduce that much?

Very nice plants. I'm curious, do you care for your Hahniis differently than other Sans? I understand they can be a bit more picky in their care. I've only barely tried them for that reason. I'm afraid I'll kill them over winter if I water them at all.

Other than Golden Hahni, which seems to need warmth and good light, I really have not had problems with these at all. They are distributed in three areas......a bright sunny but cool kitchen window. These I always water in the morning of a sunny day, and they get semi-regular watering usually on a weekend every week or sometimes two week. Ones on my office window get some morning sun and I probably water them once a week or so. A few are under a fluorescent light in a warmer (75 degrees) area. They get watered twice a week generally as they dry quickly. The greener hahnis are easy and even 'Silver Frost' which is supposed to be more sensitive I really have not had problems.

Well that sucks. I'm pretty sure my house is too cold for them. They sure are nice looking.

Contrary, other than Golden hahniI think you should be fine with most hahni cultivars. My kitchen widow and office window are pretty cold, gets into low 50s occasionally and they are fine!! Kitchen window may be even colder at night I am in NJ and it is one of those "garden windows" that stick out.

Thanks! I just don't want Mike's Crested Hahnii to die. I'm sort of babysitting it. It is such an unusual plant.

Yup, It's breaking through in places too. I hope it can wait until spring for a much needed separation and potting up.

Very nice. Is that a variegated monstera I see? *swoon* That's only my short list of when I win the lottery plants. Is that toothy variegate an aloe? And your TC is still blooming? wow. I think I would like to work in your office.

I know about old trailers. Our mobile home has those crank windows that have about 2-4 thin glass panes and cracks in between. The person who lived here before us had a toddler so decided to take all the cranks AND screw the windows shut so we have no ventilation beside the A/C.

Mentha...Why pay for a variegated Monstera when you can trade for one....hint hint.......at least when the weather gets better. That is one of my favorite plants. The original I got in a trade had only a tiniest small hint of white on every other leaf or so. I kept letting it grow, then taking cuttings, until some new growth finally grew out of the white variegated part....and then kept improving until I got what I wanted. It is unstable and cuttings are sometimes not as variegated but much better. The Aloe is Aloe saponaria variegated, an easy Aloe to grow too.

Oh my lol. I was going to comment on the aloe looking like Irish Spring soap used to. I think the name is fitting. I'll definitely take you up on that trade. I have wanted one for years but have never justified the price. How is your pothos doing?

Just beautiful. For me though the silver frost has been the one that is most finicky. But it hasn't deterred me!
