Master bathroom vanity top

We are about to start a master bath re-decoration. I LOVE the classic marble and white/gray look. Unfortunately our vanity is not a standard replaceable size-it is 66 inches long. Thinking of options....We found a piece of remnant granite that would work that would be around $1000 with undermount sinks included. I think the granite is beautiful, but doesn't really fit the marble vision I have in my mind. OR my husband could build marble tile 12×24 top vanity for about $450. My plan right now is to lay the same marble on the floor and about 3 ft up the toilet wall, and the same marble wrapping the wall/corner between the tub and toilet wall. I also plan to surround the top of the one piece shower/bathtub with the same marble. So...will I hate the tile/grout lines? I have black granite tile with black grout in my kitchen and I love it- but it is black. Will a tile counter look cheap? Any other suggestions? I don't really want to spend thousands.... Also-we have cherry bedroom furniture-should I stick with a cherry vanity-or paint it white? I am attaching pictures of the space.
