No it isn't chamomile; both the flower and the foliage are wrong. There are lots and lots of plants that have small daisy-like flowers. Chamomile has ferny leaves and a distinct scent. I wouldn't try eating anything that I wasn't perfectly sure of . . .

Try the Name that Plant forum. Get a good photo from the side that shows the foliage. Add where you are to the post.

I would suggest Bidens alba but please ask over on NTP where the US-based people can confirm for you.

If the leaves & flowers do not smell faintly but distinctly of pineapple, it's not chamomile! Actually, I have seen this growing in FL when I was visiting friends there last year, and the leaves are all wrong for chamomile. I just did a bit of Googling and think it must be Spanish needles - Bidens alba - which, while nothing like chamomile, nonetheless is edible & medicinal! See: Bidens alba
