Is there any reason why your shelves didn't go all the way to either walls?

I would say leave it for now because in a few years, those little clothes will be big clothes and the space might have to be redesigned to accommodate a preteen/teenager.

Not sure if existing shelves are 24' wide but would you have space for one more shelve next to it if you move this one the the left edge of inner space? It's hard to tell where inside ends on the right side.

I think they meant to make it symmetrical, looks like it is right in the center when you open the door.

Is there another closet, either narrower or much wider, that could accommodate the organizer? It's just the wrong size. Then you can start over in this closet. Go to the hardware store and get a few brackets and have shelving and a rod for hanging clothes cut to the precise right length for this closet (I think it's 50 cents a cut at Home Depot). It looks like all the shoes would fit on the organizer hanging on the back of the door. Then you can get storage boxes or double hang the closet.

The reason why it's in the middle and doesn't fit the whole wall is because my husband who's not quite the handy man decided to purchase this without measuring. He's that bad!! but thanks for the suggestions!! I am probably going to either put hooks or end up removing it and starting all over unfortunately
