Mule Palm in zone 8a/b

I'm right on the edge of zone 8a and 8b in Montgomery, Alabama and I've got a 5 foot potted mule palm that I was planning to plant in March. However it's taking up so much room in my house when I bring it inside and because of El Niño the coldest it's gotten so far this winter is 32F and the 10 day forecast looks pretty warm. Would it most likely be safe to plant it now in a very sunny space on the south side of my home?

I have 3 mule palms in the ground in Phoenix Az and we saw nights of mid 20's. All 3 of mine are doing fine. I think you would be safe planting it now, but I am not an expert.

A better course of action in your area would be to wait until mid to late March to plant it out. It's probably not going to grow that much between now and then, and if you wait, it will give it a solid 8 month establishment period between the seasons where it could likely sustain damage.
