If there is room, I think adding another just like that one for a wall of storage would look good. I'd pass on the 15" cabinet. If two does not fit, I think it looks fine with just the one case to showcase and store your handbags.

Agree with acm. I would just leave it the way it is (one bookcase). Also, if it's at all possible, I would remove things from the top of the bookcase. In my opinion, you will get a more streamlined look with everything behind the glass doors and with nothing on top.

If you want, I think the 15" open shelving on the right of the bookcase could work. I agree more storage may look busy however. So, if you do the open bookcase, just minimally display your most favorite shoes that is more an "art" display than shoe storage. :)

That would work too. My first thought that it will look out of balance without the symmetry and different width on the glass. Hmmm. Your call.

Perhaps move the light switch and add another same size/same wall. Two would look lovely and the expense likely far less than a single Chanel handbag, for a better result and more storage. You could also add two of the fifteen inch, one either side, and yes,...still move the switch, but the result... very nice. Both options will appear more "built in". No stuff on top please. Save some money for a hide zebra stenciled rug for your floor : ) to finish off the glam girl room

I think once the handbags are in it will be like a piece of art and one is enough I would however add crystal knobs to the piece.

Oh My , Jan I have been wanting that rug!!! My daughters don't like it but hey they don't like Chanel either lol... I can't move the switch the room is tiny and it's my only wall for it.. I mean I can fit my fingers in between the bookcase and wall and get to it still. Let me attach a picture of the bookcase all the way to the door frame.. Thank you again for the wonderful input.. I think I would paint the back of your cabinet the same color as the wall. It would showcase your collection much better. Maybe add some interior ambient lighting? Possibly a nice tiara at the top for the crown jewel;) Perhaps a set of small speakers to play some background music when you open the doors.

SUPER DUPER!! Add the other cabinet.... add that "beef" to below the chair rail, let the handbags show against that lovely neutral background of the cabinets...lay that rug on the floor..... and be prepared for "your Mom is soooo cool" . Just sayin !: ) Wouldn't mind if a couple pillows on the settee were traded for a fab furry throw tossed on there...."sable" perhaps
