curtain height and style help

I have 8 toot ceilings. How should I hang curtains here? What length do I need? P.S. I know my bed and walls are blah--still trying to figure that out! I'm thinking of accenting in a rusty orange. There is a dark beige shade on the larger window that will be staying and I'm thinking a cream color for the curtains. Opinions please!

I always hang drapes at least halfway or higher between the top window moulding and the ceiling. Most often I bring the drapes all the way to the top as it gives the feel of higher ceilings. 96" curtains I believe.

yep, most of the designers say 6" above the window, so that would be about you got it looks like.

creamy sheers are always nice, I have a couple pics of bedrooms that entail the rust color giving you totally different directions to go.

this is one of my favorites, it is reversed from what you said where soft things are burnt orange and walls are sage and beige but could always do the other way around.

Ready made curtains come in 84" and 96" Go for the taller. Curtains should just kiss the floor. Measure from floor 1/2" to where the rod will go so you don't have to hem :>) 96" is 8' so may have to hang rod just above window and use 84". You need a couple of inches above rod for curtain top for grommet type curtains. Doesn't appear you have a lot of room from window top to ceiling.
