Hi we just bought our first house a few weeks ago, its a townhouse and we are really happy with our purchase however, I need help on deciding which type of furniture I should buy for our living room. We don't have a fireplace on the living room (have one in the basement) and I have decided that we will not have a TV either, (again, have a TV mounted on the wall in the basement) Its just that we have this sort of rectangular space for our formal living room and cant decide on the layout, don't know if it will be a good idea to have a formal seating area and maybe two chairs against the wall and a bench or if we should just do one open seating area. Also, don't know what would work better a sectional with chairs or a sofa, loveseat and ottomans. Any help will be greatly appreciated. We are planning on installing medium brown hardwood floors and replace the current oak we have in the "foyer area" (not really a foyer but the entrance area) we will also get rid of the stair pole right next to our main door, we will paint the walls a soft gray, we intend to have a gray, beige, soft blue, living room, with plants to add some green to the décor.
