round if you want to 'amp it up', square if you want to 'tone it down', but whichever, make sure they are beefy looking, there is a formula for height to diameter that is correct, make sure your builder gets it right.

Classic are round ionic columns with fluting. however I would go with beefy square with some detail such as square moldings on the flat surfaces.

Make the decision fast...you want to get into that lovely new house.

I vote round! I just think it looks more polished with brick homes.
