Make sure when you buy that you don't go with 'bonded' leather. Go with the real thing & at your budget you should be able to find what you want.

There are lots of red bar stools on Houzz shop and pretty reasonably priced.

Maureen: I just searched Houzz using bar stool, red, leather, and low or high back and only received 2 results.

I didn't search for leather, just red - in case you were open to other than leather. Given the prices of other types, thought you may be interested. Good luck in your search.

Agree with sandradclark-- that style of chair/barstool is a knockoff of a really expensive modern design. You'll find a lot of reproductions in bonded leather. Bonded leather is basically bits of leather and synthetic compressed together to look like leather. You'll find that with bonded leather in that style, in a short period of time, the seams will start to split apart.

We went with 4 Copenhagen MAX II counter stools for our kitchen island. They are bonded leather, but after 3 years of daily use, they've held up perfectly. At only $190 each, we're quite pleased with them.

If you have chrome accents in the kitchen, the legs work very nicely. They don't come in red, but there is a grey.

Although I've found Copenhagen furniture in general to not be of the greatest quality, I have to say these have served us well.

Thanks, Charles. Al osr a year and a half has passed since my hunt for red bar stools so I already found some. Since you were nice enough to reply, I looked into your suggestion. While the stools are nice looking, they wouldn't have served my purpose. I definitely wanted/needed stools w/a back and I'm concerned about the comfort of single mold polycarbonate. While they are very attractive bar stools, the style and design wouldn't have worked for me. Thank you very much for taking the time to reply.
