I would also take a look at Spectrus and Black Galaxy. Have you considered a light granite such as Bianco Antico?

The granite you selected would look great, except for the stainless backsplash. If you are keeping the backsplash, keep in mind the backsplash is competing with whatever you put on the counter, and therefore I would go with something like absolute black granite.

If you can afford to change the backsplash along with new granite, I would change the backsplash to something less detracting, to let the granite be the star.

You realize when you remove the corian the backsplash will install at the bottom will be messed up. IMO the stainless is too much with the busy granite, which I like by the way but with a simple gray glass subway tile or even white

I just did that backsplash and love it. Everyone goes nuts over it when they see it. I didn't think a white granite would look right since the cabinets are a creamy color. That one color granite I posted has a bunch of mica in it and some silver and brown that's the color of the floor. This is tough because I originally thought gloss black would look great but I think it's kind of boring looking. I don't know what to do because of the current colors in the room I think my only choice are dark.

I wish there was a way to photoshop that color or black in the pics.

The granite you are considering ties in nicely with your cabinets and floor. It is lovely.

The backslash is a bit busy and therefore I would select a simple brown/grey or black/grey quartz or granite, which I feel would be more modern and streamlined (and not as common as black). Then replace the mat with a much larger rug that duplicates the backsplash's pattern in the same shade as the counter and it will pull the whole kitchen together.

I agree a dark granite would look best with that AWESOME backsplash. It's really cool! Since it's shiny, maybe do something like Absolute Black granite as mentioned above, but with a leathered finish? We did that on the island in our new kitchen. The black can be blinding if it's polished, so something more subtle and non-reflective would set off the backsplash.

I totally agree with acm, regarding looking at large pieces of the the granite. Hand pick the pieces from your source if at all possible. I've seen many an unhappy client who did not do this. They were faced with an unexpected and unwanted amount of "movement".

I say that because the of glass stove top and think all gossy would look cool and reflect the backsplash. This is tough... Any other suggestions? I love my backsplash, but do know I want to stay glossy.

I love Absolute Black but you already have the black Corian. It won't change the look much. Funny how things repeat themselves. My parents had you same backsplash in the early 60s in copper. I love your ss though.

I like the Corian; I like the back splash. I suggest painting the cabinets pure white.

I'm afraid that your granite will compete with your backsplash and you will end up hating them both. When they take out the countertop it may tear up your backsplash. Honestly, if you love the backsplash you should keep the current countertop and let the backsplash be the star.
