That's it. I didn't it. No, it wasn't my right arm. It was my PENINSULA! I gotta find that thread that talk about wishing you'd done xxxx sooner in your kitchen!

Pics will come in the morning. Right now, I just have a 12 year old cell phone and they're too dark. I really want to show you, because I'm SO excited.

And that edge, you're wondering? HA. I've been saving for soapstone for a long time. so this decorative plywood edge is just incentive. The cut-off peninsula has joined the other construction materials on the back porcy.

I cannot believe how open the kitchen is. I have a 10' space between the stove and sink, so I'm going to build my bad Self a rolling island. I feel like I have more counterspace because I don't have that giant, 30" countertop covered in construction crap. I just have space.

Now... how to deal with those pendants I really like.

How is life sans peninsula? Do you have any before/after pics you're willing to share? I'm considering going sans peninsula in a kitchen remodel and have a bit of cold feet.

"Construction crap" - Would that be the box of tools next to the kitchen wall, or the wood glue, drill, and drill bits sitting on the space that will be a sink by this time next week? Maybe the bucket of patching compound here in the family room or the step stool standing in the space where the range will go. The range and the DW are decorating the living room as are the packages of trim pieces. Not sure what the rest of your house looks like, but mine looks like one big construction zone!

Congrats on the loss of your peninsula. Generally speaking I like them, but it surely depends on the space. Yours sounds like good riddance!
