If you do installation by yourself you can save on labor and get den for coats and shoes.

MCM can have a horizontal wood privacy partition to obscure the front door. Install your house number in large format w/ a small light above it. It can be one piece or an "L" shape.

I will post more pictures tomorrow. The door I am thinking about. Would go in the front part of the opening that is shown. The original front door is not showing but is at a right angle to the right wall and is hidden by it

HI -- Thank you brenit -- Thought that was the case but wasn't sure . My concern would be it looking a little flat . But it will make the front entrance more visible and it will need the right looking door . I think it is a good idea .

I would consult with a professional. In some cases, doing this kind of reno can add value to your home, or, this kind of reno can drive you into the ground during resale. Even if this is you "forever home" you never know what can happen. If this is not something that will help you in resale, don't do it. Your house is your home. It should be a reflection of you. But more importantly, it is an investment. If you are not going to get a higher ROI for doing this reno, then it is not worth it.

This job will require some thought as that door will become your new entry does that work ? This is a nice MCM door but probably not black . IMO this is not a DIY job so hire a pro and before doing anything get a designer who can help with reworking the space that was your entry and the new entry space. I think i would not put a french door in the old space but maybe close that space up and use the bricks you remove from the new door space to match where the old door came out this would make this look properly done.

I do not like the idea. It seems like a lot of work to move a door a few feet. I don't see how a forward facing door is worth the money. If you submit a picture from further back we can see if there are other ways to enhance your home.

if you put the door in that spot you can go with a very glassy one, as it would look into the wall, you could add a table and mirror, whatever. i think it would look better recessed a bit tho... not sure you have the depth needed to do that.

(this is assuming i read this right, and you are wanting to put a new entry door in that opening and nothing else would change except the current entry door could be 'downgraded' to an interior door.)
