Advice for long, narrow living room?

I'm buying a home with a 13x25 living room with lots of doors, windows, a fireplace and other interesting features. The fireplace is on the long side, and there's an open kitchen with a counter that juts out slightly into the LR on the other long wall (which makes it not so long). I'm going to put a woodstove in the fireplace, which will jut out even more into the room. (These are photos from the realtor listing; none of this furniture is staying.)

I can't decide how to arrange furniture, and what kind - couch and chairs facing each other perpendicular to the fireplace? Couch facing the fireplace? Sectional wrapping around? I want the LR to look inviting from the front doorway from the entryway, so you don't just see the back of a couch. I'm also thinking corner table and chair in the front outside corner and bookcases flanking the mantle. But who knows? Help!

I got such great suggestions for my DR here, I thought I'd try this again. Thank you!
