Getting old!

It is not fun getting old(er).

I was packing up a box to send to Linda with this year's blocks. Because mailing costs are sooo high here from Canada, it is easier and cheaper to send one package with all the blocks at once.

I pulled all the ones I had made and counted them off. Whoa Nellie! Where are the blocks for July and Sept. I am sure I made them. I searched the table where everything gets piled, twice. No blocks.

So my 82 year old memory is playing tricks. Either I made them and can't find them or I didn't make them at all.

I am beginning to think it was the latter. So today's task is making blocks. Rats!

Sorry, Linda, they will be coming a bit later than I planned.

If your experience is anything like mine, as soon as you've made the new blocks the originals will turn up :-) Have fun!

I hate when things like that happen. I'm sure we got confused when we were younger too, but then the specter of older age wasn't hanging over us. We just blamed it on our busy lives or anything else.

Theresa, just think... At 82 you're still making beautiful quilts, participating in an on-line forum, and calculating postage costs. Sounds like your mind's in good shape to me. Lois

Get this!

There is a site called Piecing it Together. Every day or so, they post a number of quilt patterns and their source. Today's post is called "Little old lady Quilts".

Now how is that for coincidence! I am still laughing.

Did you put fabric away? Maybe the blocks hitched a ride back to the stash!

I guess I really didn't make them because as I was (re)doing them yesterday, nothing was familiar.

I will be packing them up today.

nannykins, can you post a link to that website with the little old lady quilts? I found a website for Piecing it together, but it seems to just be a store.

Don't sell yourself short. You're still quilting and seem to have it all together! And yes, as soon as you make new blocks, you'll find the old ones.
