It's not you. This is not paint, it is a stucco color coat. The color is in the stucco itself. Part of what you see in the photo is a bit of the texture, where you will get some shadows. But with integral colored stucco you do get what we call "mottling". Stucco is essentially a cement finish, and cement always has some variation. The smoother the plaster finish the more variation in tone you see, and it also varies with the color selected. Whites don't usually mottle. I let clients know that if they want a perfectly uniform finish, they would have to paint the exterior. Gina G. Moffitt
