Meyer Lemon taken today

I took these today in my sun room. The largest lemon is about 3.5 x 3 inches, and three others are only slightly smaller. There are 3 more that are still smaller and green, but they should get larger and ripen. I also took one of a couple of buds, and there are about 20 buds altogether. They will probably open within 2 weeks. I also took one of my bird of paradise (Strelitzia) which is about to bloom.The last one is a decorative pineapple that I started from the top of a small pineapple fruit that was on it's own stem in a floral arrangement.

Thanks. When I walk into that room, if even ONE lemon flower is open, I can smell it. Citrus fragrance is amazing.

Beautiful and very good work Bill! Look at the benefits of a nice sun room..It must smell wonderful in there when it's in bloom..

I picked my last Meyers lemon Sun, I had 16 lemons this year, can't wait until next crop comes around.

Gardenbear, do you have any photos? Where do you grow your lemon?

Sun room, conservatory, etc.?

bill, sorry I didn't post pictures but was on the wrong computer for that. The Meyers lemon tree grows out side all summer and spends the winter in my sun room in a south window along with my orchids, and other plants, its just about 5 years old now and its loving the warm sunny room. Its just about 3ft tall, in about a month I will start feeding it again once I see new growth.

We are both lucky to have south-facing sun rooms I guess. I have four orchids and three Strelitizias, which were in my original post here. There are a some other plants in there as well.

Great looking plants. The smell of blooming citrus is amazing. It would be great to hybridize my Poncirus trifoliata with Meyers Lemon! I'm growing some Citrumelo and Citrange too (hybrid citrus between Poncirus and Citrus). Too bad they can't take temps below 5F very well. If we keep hybridizing them, perhaps we'll get a form Hardy in our area. How cool would that be?

Tim, it would be something amazing for sure. Maybe a hybrid of the Poncirus with the Ichang might have a chance.

Maykb, I honestly don't remember where I bought it but it may have been Logee's in Danielson, CT. I know they are in their current catalog (and online). It's also possible that I got it at a larger nursery center, like Briggs in Attleboro, MA or Pezza farms in Johnston. Pezza usually carries a good variety of citrus, and the prices are a little more reasonable I think than Logees or Briggs.

Mine came from Logee's and it wasn't that cheap, but I wanted it so I paid their price.
