I live in a small 1950's row house with little character. We would love to replace our interior metal door frames and crumbling doors, as well as have the windows recased. I love the modern farmhouse frames as seen in the first photo. My husband thinks that since our upstairs has 4 doors side by side (2 bedrooms, the bathroom, and a linen closet), some of which run into corners, the beauty of the top moulding of the frame is lost and that this type of frame should only be done in airier spaces with wall on both sides (as in the inspiration photo), not when the moulding touches the corner. I hope that makes sense. I've attached photos of the four upstairs doors for reference. My view is that this isn't a problem because for the rest of doors and the windows in the house, the frames don't hit the corner. since its a small house, however, is it awkward if half of the doors have this issue? Should we just pick a door frame with a standard moulding that won't look 'cut off' at a corner as in the final photo?
