here are some ideas

Paint garage door color of siding to make it disappear, add shutters to those upstairs windows, paint them SW Tricorn Black, add some planters at the front with asparagus fern.

Also, paint that rail in front a softened white instead of that bright white. SW and BM have paints for vinyl/plastic if that's what that is.

a carriage style garage door out of wood would add a lot of character to the front, since the garage door is so prevalant. Also a new front door to match or paint a bolder color like red and maybe add some shutters on either side of the upstairs windows to match the new garage door.

My house has the same little sidewalk from the driveway to the front door. We used to have grass right up to the little sidewalk, just like you have. I wanted to soften the look, so we had a little landscaping done to provide curves. It was quite affordable to have the work done ($1500 as I recall).

also use the same wood for the vent cover above the garage. You could even make the post and railing the same color or wood type of the carriage style garage door. goodluck

The garage and above are so prominent. I would suggest that you want that part of your house to recede. Notice how your front door and windows (during daylight) recede.

Paint the garage and door the color of your roof. Then paint your front door a bold color. Until you do that your garage will always be in your face.

Also, stain that big ole concrete driveway. SW has a great acid wash product that will etch and stain the raw concrete you seem to have leading up to your garage. The color is built into the acid wash. Spray it on with a pump sprayer, leave it as directed, wash it down and wet vac the residue, finish with the recommended permeable sealer and you won't believe the difference.

Since you live in Florida, shutters are really a great addition, plus they can be used. Add a shutter to the outside of each of the two windows & this will help with the balance.

Go dark & do add the additional plantings around the sidewalk as Ann suggested. If that doesn't do it, change the garage door as suggested. You would not need to add a 3rd window as rawketgrl suggests, just add a 3rd shutter there (as though it is closed).

Thanks everyone so much for the suggestions!! Would anyone recommend changing the exterior paint color and door (lots of door comments, and totally agree!) to pop a bit more or do you think door color alone would do the trick?

I think you can wait until the house actually needs repainting. Florida color door will help you fit in. If you can, paint the garage door the same color as the house. It does not need special attention.
