I grow both of them and get multiple crops each summer. The beans are going to trickier than the corn, look for the earliest to fruit varieties. Sweet corn is so nice to have on hand that each year I devote more and more space to it (dehydrates well!). The soil has to be very warm in order for the seed to sprout (field corn isn't as picky) and it seems like it takes two months from planting to harvesting in the middle of the summer. Some summers my bush beans keep going all season and into the fall. They mostly fail due to some sort of insect and not because of weather issues. You could plant the beans first and last and grow the corn in the middle of the year.
