It's is a flawed tile job, but if the substrate behind the tile looks anything like the exposed walls, the tile installer had no hope. Yes it is their responsibility to adjust walls as possible, but the drywall and framing look terrible. They can only work with what they were given.

Pictures can be misleading but this looks like a poor job from drywall to tile, sorry to say. More importantly, what is behind that tile? I hope its not drywall. Also, is that a sprinkler head I see in the shower?

That's what I suspected. Is it in anyway salvageable or does it need to be torn up and redone?

That is indeed a sprinkler, it's odd I know and I can't move it as per the buildings instructions.

I would say hire better guys to do the cement board behind the tile first and not greenboard which looks like it is behind the tile while you are at it get someone who knows how to mud and tape drywall what a mess

Depending on how the tile has bonded to the wall it may be salvageable. Not sure it is worth the effort as you will spend a lot of time cleaning the mortar off the tiles if they don't break coming off

You can learn to ignore this sloppy tile. To fix it gut the space, fix the framing so it's plumb, install new backer, waterproofing, and tile.

I don't think there is a 'fix' of the existing situation based on the photos. Yes the raking light exaggerates the problems but nothing looks well done.

I too am thinking its a bad job but also the walls do t look like they were straight.

The installer should have tried their best to camouflage thus but it seems like a combination of issues.

If you are selling your home maybe change the lighting- a lot homeowners change everything anyway.

Substandard wall prep and tile job. In addition it looks like there is no backerboard installed behind the tile which will cause serious issues down the road.

Also all the wall preparation, i.e. taping, sanding, primer and painting should all be done prior to the tile installation and all the painters have to do is touch up paint after tile work is completed.

I don't know anything about doing the job, but it looks like they started out with larger tiles up toward the ceiling and ended up with smaller ones at the bottom. Regardless, the tiles are obviously not flush with each other. Don't pay these people, yet! No professional tile layer would do a job like that.

5-7K would be average for a large shower like that properly constructed, by someone who is licensed, insured, and actually knows how to create a waterproof shower. ^That, had none of that happen.

This is the kind of thing that turns into a nightmare for the future homeowner if not ripped out and done over properly. There is no salvaging it or the tiles. I feel for you because that is a lot of wasted money. Find someone else who knows how to build a properly built and waterproofed shower. If you have not paid for this.... don't.
