A nice comfy swivel chair to the left of fireplace!

Very pretty room. I would eliminate those chairs beside the TV, no one is going to sit on them. Get one club style chair for beside the FP

You're missing a focal point. Is that a little fireplace? You have some very busy areas of the room yet the area around the fireplace is sparse. I'd paint the section with the fireplace a different color, add an eye catching piece of artwork, then move the two chairs from the tv console to the corner to create a seating area next to the fireplace. Your furnishings, and colors are all really wonderful, just tweak your design a little.

Lovely room. Adding a chair (and ottoman?) in the corner would make it a great spot for reading if you add a floor lamp or small table/lamp. You could add two prints one above the other on the wall which will give weight to that side and balance that wall. Adding art above the fireplace would be nice as well. Looks like you love decorating and have worked very hard, so you may be open to some suggestions...I find the chairs on either side of tv feels more suited to a dining room and also that wall really feels lined up. Your console table could be more impactful with less small items and think about groupings of 3's with more weight and different heights - see below. Hope this helps.

Very lovely room. I too think its a bit overly accessorized in some spots. Id remove the small framed pics from the sofa table and a few from the built ins as it looks too busy. Agree a large piece of art above fireplace and upholstered chair in nearby corner would balance it all

Your room is beautiful, you've done an excellent job. Now all you need , as Beverly's illustration shows, is a comfy chair and art over fireplace. Keep your accessories as they are very tasteful and I'm sure you enjoy them every day. You are not decorating for a photo shoot and they are part of what makes your room your home. Love the colors!

Here's a chair in the corner - ignore the color. I love it! Question now - I removed the two chairs next to piece under TV. What do I put there in this opening? Seems bare to me. Thank you all again!

A plant on the near side would be perfect or a basket with a throw for next to the console table. Near side only.

Lovely room! I don't think the TV wall looks bare with the chairs removed. I think the room is simply off balance in color weight - the dark and heavy looking sectional, dark console and dark blinds on the one side of the room. The only dark/heavy looking item on the other side is the TV. The console is large but because it is mirrored, it looks light depending where you stand in the room. Try adding a darker throw on the back of the chair and a larger deep colored lumbar pillow. Add two dark frames stacked on the wall behind the chair and FP art that is the size of the firebox opening.

I notice the DR entry has the wall inset panels painted grey, consider this on your TV wall, maybe the three panels where the TV is and the sconces. I'm sure the experts will chime in if this might be too busy.

Consider editing your shelves to hold less frames. Remove the frames from the sofa table and the TV console and move the books into the shelves.

You dont need anything where the 2 dining type chairs were. Some open space is good esp along walls. When you remove some framed pics maybe put them in an album or hang on a wall somewhere

Ally, Bette's suggestions sound great to me. I also agree with Lesley's suggestion for a basket or plant on the near side of the console. That space does seem to need something based on the last pic you posted.

What about 2 cube ottomans to pull up additional seating when needed?

There's too much stuff on the sofa table. You have a whole area of shelves next to the fireplace so keep your small pictures together there. Add a large bowl of fruit and a stack of books is all you need. Too many little things just looks cluttered and busy.

Looks like you might need more lighting.

The sofa table could use a pair of lamps.

Be sure to include a lamp and side table next to the new chair sot that is really is useful for reading or knitting. Even an ottoman wouldn't be out of place there.

Yes I ordered a tripod lamp and this is the chair.

Okay folks the chair and artwork has arrived!! It's a bit creamier than expected but I think it warms up the room. Tripod lamp on the way and possible a small side table to go next to it! I also decluttered my console as suggested. Thanks to all for your thoughtful advice.

Great solution in the bare corner, and your style is showing well! Now lets move on to the shelving unit on the right. There are just too many framed photos here. Take your two favorites that are the same size pix and frame them alike, hanging them vertically with one frame's width between them inside the panel to the right of the bookcase. Remove all but six different sized photos from the shelves. These should be arranged in two groupings of three (tall one behind two shorter ones in a layered effect) on opposite ends of two different shelves. Don't set them straight like soldiers but angle them. The rest of the shelves should be styled with 1/3 books, 1/3 large decor items (your two picture groupings count as decor) and 1/3 open space. Pick an additional 2-3 photos for each table surface in your room and arrange them in a similar tight layered grouping. They will be more interesting this way and the shelves will look less like a frame shop. Rotate out the pix once in a while so you can show off all of them over time. Extras can go in similar groupings in other rooms.
