Arabesque kitchen backsplash

Calling out to the Houzz fans for their expertise!

We're in the process of picking out backsplash and I really like the white beveled arabesque tile for our kitchen/wet bar area. My concern is - will this look get old after a year or too? (Note: I know subway tile is classic, but I just haven't warmed up to it. Plus, I plan to use it in a tub surround, and don't want my kitchen to match.)

Here is our granite- supreme white! I am a very visual person, so I attempted to put together a pic of what I was trying to go for...but as you can tell.., it's not the best

Love the arabesque tile; classic but less overdone than subway tile.

I don't think arabesque tile will age horribly. Main thing is you have to ask yourself will you grow tired of the look. Moroccan pouffes are still lovely, I just wish I didn't buy one. Lol

If you fear the arabesque is a fad and don't want to duplicate your bathroom subway tile try a different approach to something classic. Find a 'subway' tile with some character (maybe a handmade look, a glass or a craquele tile) and set the entire backsplash in a herringbone pattern. Very classic but also very now and much less risky than arabesque. Not to say that there aren't arabesque styles out there that are extremely cool but if your thinking timeless, 10 years from now you may be happier with the herringbone. (Photo shows a tile I suggest, unfortunately I don't have a pic of the pattern but you can get an idea of the handmade texture)
