What lamp shade would Work for this lamp?

Just received this lamp as a gift, and am super excited to use this in the bedroom. I feel a country style patterned shade would work well with this... what do you all suggest?

Take the lamp to a lampshade store (check for local dealer)....always remember that the harp can be changed out to a shorter or longer version (although not in that fab red color). This looks like the office lamps with the army helmet shade.....there you go: find an army helmet and drill a hole in the center....fun and will protect the bulb from in coming.

A burlap shade with a sloped profile would be appropriate. It could also be natural cotton.
The main thing is keep it simple and modest. No silk shades, no fancy trimmings here!

Thanks Jeff! Do you think anything with a pattern is a bad idea? I saw a few cotton ones with some neat patterns

Boy, this screams industrial chic to me, and I would love to put a new Edison light bulb in it and leave it as is. However, I like the contrast of wood veneer lampshades - metalwork vs wood; country vs city; OR how about this unusual idea?

i would suggest a plain neon orange lamp shade its simple and would make the lamp stand out without going overboard.

Wow, this is a conversation that is near and dear to my heart. When I first moved into my home, I realized that had a 'thing' for lamps - I had at one point 6 in my small livingroom (now down to 4). I bought some very unique vintage MCM lamps on eBay and Etsy, and I realized that the lamp is the easy thing - coordinating the perfect shade is hard work! Especially since I was doing most of my shopping online and it was important to me to buy vintage. It became quite an obsession. Sometimes I would get what I thought was the perfect shade, but it just would not work. After all was said and done, I was left with many, many leftover shades (craigslist!).

My advice to you: if at all possible, travel with this lamp and take it with you shade shopping. Good luck!

@lalennoxa I will most definitely do this! Great advice. It's definitely one of those finishing touches that is incredibly hard to get right. I want to go simple white cotton shade, but wonder if there is something out there (as seen by some of these replies) that would really just "bring it". It's exciting and kind of anxiety inducing (the designer background doesn't help that stress..haha)
