It will probably depend on how porous the Terrazzo is. If it's like tile, you might be ok, except for grout areas which might be cleaned with grout cleaner. The Natures Miracle products seem to be the best for clean up, but I have no idea how that would work for Terrazzo. If it's always in the same areas, you could put washable area rugs. Also, there is a product called Playa Pet which is a belly band dogs can wear which absorbs any "accidents."

Thanks for your response. We do use a belly band when we are away, but hate to leave it on him all the time because he seems so uncomfortable.

Since flooring varies so much, suggest you contact the manufacturer who should be able to respond to your inquiry.

You can buy a spray tile sealer and seal it. It will help.

The OP is renting and would not be able to touch the floors without owner permission. Also, it's hard to determine who the manufacturer is.

bcandy--are you sure the wetting is from fear? Does he need a vet checkup?

Most landlords would be thrilled if a tenant wanted to seal tile to keep it looking nice. I have 11 rentals and know I would be thrilled.

I've had luck contacting flooring stores to get information about specific materials. For example, I called to find out the best cleaning solution for my hardwood floors. Even though I had not purchased anything, the staff was knowledgeable and more than happy to help. Since yours is the original, it should be fairly easy to provide suggestions.

I did some reading on submissive piddling. Suggestions included belly bands which OP uses at times, putting his bed or house in the area, or feeding in the area.

We threw some kibble in the areas and we haven't had a submissive piddle since we started Dec 24th. I think he is over the problem - ours is a puppy

It also said to not get upset at the dog as this can make it worse. Others said if caught in the act, Yelp loudly to shut down the bladder.

You can buy enzyme sprays if you want to clean the area as well.

We did the food for about a week. We visited my brother and tossed kibble where he would have issues and no problems.

I woiuldn't want my tenant to seal floor b/c if they use wrong or cheap product, it might discolor and get flaky. Then I'd have to correct. Better let owner do it.

I think terrazzo is marble chips and concrete. Can't imagine how much damage urine could do, esp. the overlooked puddles. but an pet enzyme cleaner should take care of it easily.

Living w/ terrazzo here - it's usually quite easy to clean up almost any messes - I just wipe up & sanitize w/ my steam mop, or you can use a 10% bleach solution.
