After 13 years we decided that out worn out family room (that had raised two kids and two dogs) was due for a makeover. We replaced the carpet with wood and bought all new furniture. The only thing from the old family room are the lamps. The family room is adjacent to an open kitchen with brick red walls which will stay as is. I need assistance with furniture placement and COLOR! I want to leave the red in the kitchen but small accents are fine. We want to add: (1) Area rug, (2) throw pillows, (3) curtains. I could really use some advice on color palettes and furniture placement. There is on awkward space under a portrait of my kids. The portrait does not have to stay. We considered putting a wine bar there. Thank you in advance for any direction/feedback you can offer!
