How to change oak cabinets to this finish

I really love how these cabinets look with the grain still showing. I just wondered if anyone knew the process to achieve this look?

    I had them custom painted using Sherwin Williams Gauntlet Gray and then a custom light gray glaze. A painter who specializes in custom finishes will know how to do this. It is not a DIY project. The finish is the same quality you would get on custom cabinetry.
