Hi, this is a picture of wood - bleached walnut - or a fauxwood sheet over a warp resistant core. The edges are PVC banded with the same material. This avoids any warping or splitting that can occur with solid slab doors that do not use a batton strip to bond the planks of wood together. This home was right on Monterey beach, so we needed to use stable materials to deal with the elements. I hope this helps!
