This one doesn't, it's held appx. 4" away to line-up with the window casing above it.
You can have it go all the way to the glass, appx. 1/16" gap and fill it in with clear silicone for a clean look.

Just want to thank you SO much for these ideas. I have a 5 x 8 bathroom that I've been contemplating a remodel of for several years. I've been hung up on the vanity, because the typical 24" door + 12" drawer arrangement just doesn't work well. Never thought about centering an 18" door with 9" drawers on both sides. (Duh!) A furniture-maker friend of mine is going to make the vanity, and now I know the design I'm going to use! Glad I've been postponing things, because this photo is really helpful.

You do such livable and inviting projects. I enjoy looking through your lovely results. I'm planning a similar 2nd bathroom remodel. My question is about the fit between the sink and the 18" cabinet it sits over. I'm using the same model sink and notice the undermount portion of the sink is wider at 20.25". The actual bowl, which is visible, is 18". I am not familiar with stone type countertops and undermount sinks. Could you explain how you fit the sink into its cabinet when the undermount lip extends further than the cabinet width? Thank you.

Yes, this is OK as long as the lip doesn't exceed the cabinet side panels way too much.

When the lip does exceed the cabinet width, a portion of the vertical side panels will have to be cut or notched which is OK because you won't see it anyway and the drawers adjacent to it will not be affected either.

Sometimes you don't even have to cut the vertical side panels because remember - you still have the plywood sub-top to cut as well where you want your sink to be flushed with.

Thanks for answering questions, so many don’t and it is so helpful. Wish I lived in your area! Love the idea to extend the countertop over the toilet. Concern- how are the toilet “guts” accessed for repair?

The toilet is low enough that it is still accessible so it has never been a problem, also the shelf above is not as deep as the entire toilet tank either.

I believe this was real marble, but I would recommend quartz these days. You have more choices and no maintenance. For the extension, make sure to extend your sub top plywood with some sort of a ledge support for the plywood against the wall - it should be sufficient.
