Go for it. The existing decor is truly beautiful and well coordinated. This adds pop. Art is the way to add pop In my opinion. This won't change the fact that the area is elegant and sophisticated.

Too many homes take themselves and their decor too seriously.
Here's an idea - move the mirror to above the bench (for one last check upon answering the door/or leaving the house), and put your whimsical art above the chest. Change out the vignette to something less formal, warm and welcoming that echoes the warmth of your art piece. Perhaps include a bowl of wrapped candy to add yet another smile.

I'd say absolutely, if you both love it will work for you, if someone can put two art pieces of his in their lounge you can put one in your foyer lol. I'd hang it above chair. Love it
