help with my seedling

Hi,

This is my first year in flower farming. I decided to start indoor most of my seed because of my clay soil. I made a grow room inside my house. But I need your help because I have some problem with some seed. I use soil block for the first time, and is also my first time with so tiny seed.

So I have some question.

- I put tree or four seed of snapdragons in each soil block, now I have to thin and leave only one seedling right? I never see snapdragons seedlings, they are good or too hight?

craspedia globosa

salvia farinacea

- As you see on the photo that I put , some of my seedling sprout bad (with my bad english I don't know how to explain well) They aren't straight. It appened with craspedia globosa, and salvia farinacea. Someone know what I do wrong?

could they be too wet? some look like they are rotting off at ground level.

Yes I also think the same, or problem of damping off?!?!

I had this problem with craspedia and salvia. Snapdragons and other vegetables were ok.

Next week another seeding session....I will try to make less wet soil mix!!!!

Put a small fan on to gently move the air, this helps with damping off

Also, look into spraying the soil with a mist of hydrogen peroxide. Diluted, but I can't remember the dilution rate. If you are interested, I will look it up for you. I know I wrote it down somewhere. I have used this in a small spray bottle and along with not overwatering, it really helped prevent my seeds from rotting and or getting dampening off. Easy and inexpensive solution to my seed starting problems. Lisa
