The last 4 homes that we have owned have had SubZero and Wolf appliances. They are always reliable and look awesome. Rarely do I ever need service, maybe twice in the last 25 years. Food stays fresh much longer in a subzero which as we get older I love since we don't go through our food as fast as when the kids were home. It's a solid investment for resale as well!

I have also found how difficult it is to get rating on the higher end appliances. I love the colors of some of the French ranges like La Canache. And I realize that may be a stupid amount to spend on a range. However I think one of the beautifully colored ranges could be a beautiful centerpiece to a kitchen makeover. But I don't want a pretty thing that isn't going to work. Or if it works, one that is going to take constant maintenance calls. I am really in a quandary. I can afford the range if that's what I really want. But I'm not financially able to say I am willing to just waste that amount of money. I'll be interested to see what you find out.

I subscribed to Consumer Reports because I remembered by dad always got their magazine and relied on their advice. I canceled when I read their reviews and the reviews of people who actually owned the products they were touting.
