Any suggestions/changes you'd make?

This is going to be our kitchen for the forseeable future, so I want it to be right! Any thoughts/suggestions for changes from those who've already done kitchen renos? If I want to do a couple glass doors (seeded if poss) which would you choose?

I see room for improvement. Can you post the floor plan with dimensions?

Can you put in a pull-out pantry to the left of the fridge?

I'd think about making the counter with the microwave prep height.

Something I wish I did was get an integrated front dishwasher for a nice, clean look.

I've read complaints about corner sinks, so that might be something to investigate. Personally, I'd love to look out the window when doing the dishes.

How do the two pictures "fit together"? An overhead "2D" view would be much more useful.

Are you willing to consider making significant changes? I see several issues with this layout.

Mimipadv, yes, there will be a pull out pantry to the left of the fridge and a long skinny cabinet for table leaves/broom.

The vent over the stove top.....needs to vent to the outside. IMO

Nicole__, yes, it will vent out, that is an outside wall on the other side.

What is beyond the kitchen to the left and the bottom of the drawing--the red and blue lines?

Where are the sink, range and fridge presently?

I'd make a lot of changes. To be blunt, I don't think your KD did you any favors and I would hate working in your kitchen. Sorry. It looks fairly nice but it is quite dysfunctional.

Look at how all of your real work spaces are in a small part of your kitchen. Clean and prep totally overlap. Only one person can be working here at a time. The corner makes this especially true. So this is truly a one-worker kitchen. Nobody can help clean while someone cooks. Or prep while someone is cleaning. Not without being super-crunched together. The cooktop is in a fairly narrow traffic pathway which isn't safe and could be quite annoying to the cook if a lot of traffic is going on behind while he/she is concentrating on hot items.

This plan probably isn't the best one for your space either but it's a big improvement. This plan is definitely a first draft and moves you to a more functional plan but it still needs improvement. And I didn't give you a place for your microwave.

Your work zones are a bit more spread out so, if you get a bigger sink, someone can clean on one side while someone uses the other side of the sink and that stretch of counter for prepping. The cooktop is more out of the traffic paths so it's better protected. I gave you a nice big window along that wall but I'm now realizing that you don't have good, nearby dish storage by the DW so you would probably want to make the window narrower and have an upper over the DW.

Where do doors A and B go? Can they be moved? If they can both be brought more into the lower left corner, or even if just one of them can be, it will allow for creating a MUCH better kitchen.

You have too much space to settle for a corner sink. Can the stove (vent) be anywhere else? Do you really need two wall ovens? I'd be awfully tempted to go with a range in there and move the fridge or cooktop (ahem range) to that spot. Then sink gets out of the corner.

Benjesbride, the fridge is pretty close to where it is currently, same with the cooktop. There is currently a stack of double ovens next to the fridge (to the right). Our sink is under the window. The red line is the wall for our living room and the blue line is our dining room. There's currently a full wall there now, we're making that a half wall.
