So, I'm a bit confused... Any insight would be much appreciated: I've grown mangos from seed before. Recently a brought home a very bizarre looking mango with a big indent down it's back and sprouted it's very large pit. I've ended up with four clonal sprouts that all look the same (three of which I cut back, making way for the most vigorous one). But I've also ended up with one separate sprout, the zygote, I imagine. What's confusing me is twofold: first, when I repotted the mango (which only just sprouted a week or so ago), the zygote was already totally disconnected from the main pit. Wouldn't it's roots be somehow connected still? The second area of confusion is that the zygote's leaves don't really look all that mango like. They're the general shape and size of a mango's leaves and the stem looks mango-like, but instead of shiny, reddish, drooping leaves, the zygote's leaves are erect, not shiny at all, crayon green and with a reddish stem and veins (after an extensive Google image search, I've decided it looks more like a Rose Apple sprout than a mango sprout). Any ideas what's going on? Has a foreign seed accidentally found its way into my pot or is this a type of mango I'm not familiar with?
