The hardware usually matches the trim colour. Check out the display models at the store.

I wrote "trim" but meant frame. The lock should be the same colour as the frame.

There might be a small difference, but it's unlikely to be bothersome. Wait and see if it draws your attention. I suspect not.

My window trim in my first home we build was white, but we just remodel an old farm house we I went with blackish hardware for my windows this time, the white should match those as your window company will offer you choices in most cases.

If your window is white, you will never notice the white hardware, which will be really nice. That is what I did on my casement windows.

Sorry for the delay in response. I love the black. We are very happy with it. I have our windows now both ways and would choose the black again if I did another remodel, or needed new windows in the future.

Amy, I went to a window showroom and the wonderful salesman obliged when I asked if he could get the black hardware off the sample board and lay it on the white window. (I had asked at another showroom and been told it couldn't be done--so don't give up if you first strike out.) I liked it and so that's what we've ordered. Being able to see it in person made me feel so much more confident in the decision. We have just started framing our build, so it will be a while before they're installed, but I think I'll be happy with decision to use black rather than white.

I can’t believe it ... I’m having the same problem I’m buying White Anderson windows and I’m struggling with the hardware as well ... any suggestions for white Anderson casement Windows ?

We have moved in, and I am happy with the black hardware. On cacauwith family right now so not at home to take photos. Will try to later in the week.

Does anyone have pictures of their white windows with the black hardware?

I find most modern window hardware to be pretty unattractive. I have casements in my new home so there is a crank (folds flat) and a lock. There is no way I would want to hi-light these as features. They are white to blend in. (The whites don’t match exactly either, but it’s fine).

After agonizing for 1 year on picking black or white windows. I finally decided on white windows. Due to the darkrer paint colors coming back soon. Now I am agonizing over hardware. I think if I picked black hardware I would be in the same boat I was in with Black windows. I would have to use other black decor in the home if I use Black hardware. Browns are coming in 2022 and 2024. I would stay nutural or go with brushed nickle.

Mia - what did you end up choosing? I’m in the same boat right now 😬 I don’t want trendy but do want to show the splurge on the high end windows. White on white May seem really bland. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I've been agonizing over this for dayyyyssss. I made a decision but am second guessing it. We are redoing a early 80's cape and replacing the windows (Andersen). I am doing white interior windows in some rooms (upstairs bedroom and bath) but most of the rest of the interior windows will not be white for my trim will not be white. I am leaning toward antique french brass door hardware for a traditional old cape look. My husband does not care for the dark bronze or black hardware. However the antique brass window hardware was not an attractive brass at all, a heavy cheap brushed look to it and I def do not want bright lacquered brass. I didn't want white because of the non-white windows. The stone is ok but looks like plastic and the finger pulls were not as nice. ( I am also adding finger pulls to the sashes.) I went and looked at all the colors and still couldn't decide. I ended up going with satin nickel for it is warm enough to go with the trim colors and brass hardware I am considering and light enough to blend in with white. And now second guessing it for a lot of the metal in the house is brass or dark iron. Sigh. If only everyone made attractive antique brass hardware.

How do you like your satin nickel especially on the white windows?

I ended up putting the brass on the non-white painted windows (the nickel looked awful near brass door hardware) and satin nickel in the rooms where the windows are white (interior upstairs bedrooms and bath). It looks fine! If I had a gazillion dollars I would get fancy brass other hardware, but these will do. Most windows have some sort of window treatment anyway. You only really notice these things because you have to pick them out, like roofing shingles, some are hirrible, but most are just fine. The painted white that came with the windows, while blended in well, did look cheap/vinyl coated and seemed it would scratch easily as one was already scratched from installation. I will add photos later.
